A Culture for Technology-Enabled Art (TEA) in Hong Kong
Would you like to have TEA with us? TEA is a residency program empowering artists and curators to work with Technology-Enabled Art. Our studio provides access and guidance on working with state-of-the-art tools of our expertise, such as robotics, generative AI, performance technology, mocap, 360 environments, online games, VR and AR, data visualization, and HCI methods. We provide speaking, networking, and academic opportunities, tied to small one-time grants, as well as exhibition space and promotion support in Hong Kong. Funding for production and stays are limited and subject to discussion. We prioritize mid-career and emergent artists and curators with narrative voices tied to our interaction with technology. Lack of previous experience or access to these technologies will be taken into account by our team when evaluating for potential fit. Our previous residents include:
Vincent Ruijters
Vincent (PhD, Tokyo University of the Arts) works with the phenomenology of intimacy and identity based on his research on the aesthetics of intimacy. His exhibitions include Selintas Selalu (Gudskul, ID), Cave Inside The Body of Shadows (CAVE-AYUMIGALLERY, JP) and Breathing IN/EX-terior (Komagome SOKO gallery, JP), etc. Vincent worked with SNS on Chikyuchi (1.5 Celsius, Science Gallery MSU), also shown at 5th Floor in Tokyo.

Karl Law
Karl (MFA, Central Academy of Fine Arts) is a curator and artist dedicated to exploring cultural and natural narratives. His research and practice focus on the intertwining of memory, ecology, and coexistence, attempting to construct a critical space for reflection through artistic practice. His exhibitions include deTour 2025 (PMQ, HK), The 1st Shangri La Potatso National Park Eco-Art Season (Potatso National Park, China), and The New Youth Experimental Art Biennale 2024 (Jingdezhen, China) etc. Karl worked with MAM (Macao Museum of Arts) and was also the Executive Curator of Art Macao: Macao International Art Biennale 2023.
